Childhood & Early Life
On July 8, 1973, Maniscalco was born into a family of Italian immigrants in the Chicago neighbourhood of Arlington Heights, Illinois.
His father, Salvatore Maniscalco, was a hairstylist who came to the US at the age of fifteen together with his family from Cefalù, Sicily. His mother, Rose Maniscalco, was from Naples, Campania, and Sicily; she worked as a secretary.
Maniscalco, a Roman Catholic, served as an altar boy in the suburban Mount Prospect, Illinois, St. Cecilia Catholic Church when he was eight years old. He attended Rolling Meadows High School in the past.
In 1995, he earned a degree in communication studies from Northern Illinois University, where he also served as the chapter president of Sigma Pi.
Following his relocation to Los Angeles in 1998, Maniscalco worked as a waiter at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, from 1998 to 2005, and also did open mic nights at clubs and bowling alleys.
Maniscalco, who is well recognised for his physical humour, has six comedy specials out. Additionally, he portrayed gangster Joe Gallo in the 2019 picture The Irishman, and had minor acting parts in the 2018 film Green Book.
In the 2022 motion picture Somewhere in Queens, he also portrayed Frank Russo. Robert De Niro played Maniscalco’s father in the 2023 film About My Father, which he also co-wrote and co-starred in.
Maniscalco married Lana Gomez in August 2013. The couple have two children together: a daughter born in 2017, and a son born in 2019.

Career
He started doing stand-up routines at The Comedy Store in West Hollywood, California, in 2005. Maniscalco lists several comedians as influences, including Bill Burr, Don Rickles, Andrew Dice Clay, Jerry Seinfeld, George Carlin, Brian Regan, John Ritter, and Johnny Carson.
He has since performed in five hour-long specials and a half-hour for Comedy Central Presents. On June 2, 2009, Sebastian Live, his first special, was made available.
His following three specials, What’s Wrong with People? (issued January 5, 2012), Aren’t You Embarrassed? (released November 14, 2014), and Why Would You Do That? (released in 2016) were all recorded in Chicago.
Along with Ahmed Ahmed, John Caparulo, and Bret Ernst, Maniscalco was one of four comedians that appeared in Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Comedy Show: 30 Days & 30 Nights — Hollywood to the Heartland.
Comedy Central Presents, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Jay Leno Show, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Conan, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert are just a few of the shows where Maniscalco has been.
In addition, he starred in a number of films, including Tag, Cruise, The House, The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature, and others. He also co-hosts a podcast called The Pete and Sebastian Show with fellow comedian Pete Correale.
They have a programme on Raw Dog Comedy channel 99 on Sirius XM satellite radio as of January 2017. Maniscalco made an appearance on Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee’s sixth season in 2016.

Well Done With Sebastian Maniscalco, a reality television programme that debuted on August 12, 2021, on Discovery+, was announced in June 2021.
Maniscalco will host the show, in which he will delve into food culture and etiquette with the help of friends and family. The programme was renewed for a second season with six episodes that debuted on November 16, 2021, four days after it debuted.
He revealed his casting for Illumination’s Super Mario Bros. Movie in August 2021 via a podcast. He will be portraying Mario and Luigi’s boss, Spike from the video game Wrecking Crew.
Is It Me?, Maniscalco’s fifth comedy special, debuted on Netflix on December 6, 2022. About My Father, a comedy film that Maniscalco co-wrote and which was partially based on his life, debuted in theatres on May 26, 2023. Maniscalco costarred alongside Robert De Niro, who played his father.

He directly mocked millennials’ perceived “sensitivity” and the idea of “trigger warnings.” Essentially, he went Full Boomer. “A few announcements,” he said, before launching into the tirade.
“MTV noticed that we’re living in ultrasensitive times,” Maniscalco said. “If you feel triggered or you feel offended by anything I’m saying here or anything the musical artists are doing, they’re providing a safe space backstage where you’ll get some stress balls and a blankie and also Lil Nas X brought his horse which will double as an emotional support animal. If you’d like to talk to your ushers they’ll send you back to where that’s happening.”
In Maniscalco’s opinion, MTV was being lenient with this (fake) safe space backstage. “Personally I’d remove you from the arena, put you in your car, and send you home. But they opted with the safe space,” Maniscalco said.
Before wrapping up, Maniscalco had another announcement: There would be no “participation trophies” handed out at this event. With that, Maniscalco hurls the common stereotype that millennials need praise. “While we’re talking about feelings not getting hurt, MTV is doing this old school tonight.
They’re giving out one trophy per category. Not everyone’s walking away with a moon person or a participation ribbon. This is not little league. If you don’t win tonight, I do have a little advice for you. Next year work harder,” Maniscalco said.
