Joe’s father’s name is Joseph, a retired police officer living in New Jersey.

His mother was a free-spirited person and she consumed alcohol and cannabis products. They got divorced when he was five years old.

Later, his mother remarried a hippy man, and it is said that she liked to visit the homosexual couple who lived next door, where they would all strip down, play bongos, and consume marijuana.

Kickboxing was Joe Rogan’s original professional choice, but his friends convinced him to do a set at a stand-up comedy show because he would joke and use amusing voices.

On August 27, 1988, he gave a performance at Stitches, a comedy club in Boston, on an open-mic night.

While honing his stand-up routines, Rogan worked a variety of jobs to support himself, including delivering newspapers, instructing martial arts at Boston University, operating a limousine, doing construction work, and acting as a chauffeur for a private investigator.
