Childhood & Early Life
Anuja, At a very young age, became immensely interested in music and dancing. She wanted to be an actor ever since she was small.
Her father, Alankar Joshi who was popularly known as Master Alankar had worked as a child actor in many popular Bollywood films like “Andaz”, “Sita Aur Geeta”, “Dream Girl”, “Zameer”
“Don”, ”Deewaar” and “Sholay”.
Anuja grew up studying vocal performance in Hindustani classical music and actively participated in musical theatre in middle school and high school.
Anuja finished her Rangapravesam (Full-length solo dance performance) in Kuchipudi when she was only eighteen years old.
Joshi received her degree from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.
Anuja then completed a film director specialized course at the Kanbar Institute of Film and Television.
Alice Spivak and Grace Kiley were her acting teachers.
