Aaditi Pohankar (Aditi Sudhir Pohankar) is an Indian actress who mainly works in Marathi, Hindi, and Tamil films.
She was born on 31 December 1994 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Her parents Shobha Pohankar and Sudhir Pohankar both are Indian athletes.
After completing her early studies in Mumbai, she obtained a degree in commerce from the University of Mumbai. Aditi has worked in the Marathi and Tollywood film industries.
She started her career in theatre and later entered the modeling field and did various modeling offers. She endorsed more than 20 reputed brands such as Airtel, Cadbury Munch, Godrej AER, Samsung, Lenskart, etc.
During the stage show, she auditioned for several films simultaneously, in which she got the opportunity to play the lead role with Ritesh Deshmukh in his Marathi film Lai Bhaari.
She played the role of a villain named Nandini in the film and when it was released in the movie theatre, it was highly praised by the critics and the movie did well at the box office.
The biggest breakthrough of Aditi’s career came from MX Player’s web series Ashram, released in 2020 itself, in which she played the role of Pammi Pehelwan.

Career
At a young age, she joined theatre and started learning acting skills from there. She was also a part of Prithvi theatre. Also, popular theatre director Satyadev Dubey requested Makrand Deshpande to mentor her career as a performer at Mumbai’s theatre.
Aaditi Pohankar made her first Bollywood drama film ‘Love Sex Aur Dhoka‘ in 2010. In 2011
Aaditi appeared in the Marathi film Kunisathi Kunitari with other Marathi actors Ashok Sharaf, Smita Jaykar, and Poonam Dhillon.
Pohankar began her career in theatre and had her first film role in Kunasathi Kunitari. She was spotted by director Nishikant Kamat when he saw Makarand’s play Time Boy in Mumbai, where the actress starred as a seven-year-old boy.
Kamat made her go through two days of screen tests for a role in his Marathi film Lai Bhaari (2014) and cast her opposite Riteish Deshmukh after being impressed with her temperament.
Pohankar revealed that during the shoot, Kamat gave her the liberty to do what she wanted as an actress and to get into her character, she visualized herself as “an evil person“.
Lai Bhaari opened to positive reviews, with Pohankar’s villainous character receiving praise. The film went on to become one of the highest-grossing Marathi films.
In 2017, Pohankar starred alongside Atharvaa in the Tamil film Gemini Ganeshanum Suruli Raajanum.
Three years later, Pohankar starred in the Netflix web series She (2020), playing a police constable used as a honeytrap.
Pohankar was “riveting” in the role, adding that she successfully “unlocks her character’s complexity”.
Later in 2020, she starred in Aashram, playing the role of a young wrestler who is attracted to the seemingly democratic setup of the ashram, upon learning that her being a Dalit is keeping her from success due to casteism.

The whole idea of the series is that a woman realizes her power through her sexuality, and sexuality is nothing but something that she has discovered within herself, which is not a bad thing.
